According to IDC, server sales in Europe will reach $17.7 billion in 2023, up 3.5% from 2022. At the same time, the volume of sales of servers with x86 architecture amounted to 15.4 billion US dollars, which is 3.2% more than in 2022. Non-x86 server sales totaled $2.3 billion, up 4.7% from 2022.
The leader in server sales in Europe is Germany, which accounts for 39% of the market. The Netherlands is in second place with a share of 9%, Great Britain is in third place with a share of 4%.
The main drivers of the growth of the server market in Europe are:
Growing demand for cloud computing and artificial intelligence;
Increasing the volume of electronic commerce;
Growing popularity of remote work and learning.
The server market in Europe is expected to continue to grow in the coming years. According to IDC forecasts, server sales in Europe will reach $18.4 billion in 2024 and $19.2 billion in 2025.
