Server Dell PowerEdge R660 - Intel Xeon Silver 4510 2.4-4.1Ghz 12 Cores

The Dell PowerEdge R660 with Intel Xeon Silver 4510 2.4-4.1Ghz 12 Cores is a dual-socket 1U rack server powered by Intel's 4th generation Xeon Scalable "Sapphire Rapids" processors. It supports the latest server technologies, including E3.S Gen5 SSDs, DDR5 memory, and liquid-cooled CPU configurations. In addition, despite the compact 1U chassis, the server can accommodate up to 16 SSDs.
Maximum performance
- Add up to two next-generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable or Intel® Xeon® Max processors with up to 56 cores for
faster and more accurate data processing.
- Accelerate memory workloads with up to 32 DDR5 RDIMMS memory modules with speeds up to 4400 Mbps (2DPC) or 4800 Mbps for
1DPC (maximum 16 DDR5 RDIMMs).
- GPU support, including 3 x single-wide for workloads that require acceleration.
Conclusion
The Dell PowerEdge R660 server is a significant step forward in Dell's server lineup. Cooling improvements allow this 1U server to support up to two 350W 4th Generation Xeon Scalable processors, which in turn support DDR5 memory and Gen5 storage.
The variety of disk subsystem configurations is a big plus for the PowerEdge R660. Dell uses E3.S solid-state drives to increase storage density, which will be a big advantage when these servers are certified for vSAN, VxRail, and modified for storage systems such as PowerScale.
